The headphones that I use work perfectly fine, and I can get audio from the laptop if I just plug headphones it, however I don't get the notification that I used to. I have not gotten either of those messages since the problem with the speakers started, so it was my assumption that the laptop simply believes that there is something still plugged into the headphone jack that has never been taken out. ![]() Previously, whenever headphones were plugged into or taken out of the jack on the laptop, Realtek would send a notification saying that something had been plugged in or out. The problem is that audio is no longer coming out of the laptop speakers. The Realtek software installed is listed as Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. I think it's also worth it to note that the Speakers listed here don't change when I actually plug headphones into the laptop. The SONY: SRS-X2 listed is a Bluetooth speaker that I have been using in place of the laptop speakers, which generally works fine. I have looked up this info and haven't really found anything helpful. If anyone has any solutions or answers about my problem it would be much appreciated. They should just plug in and play without my computer to lose Realtek Audio all the time I don't know why they should disconnect every single time I plug headphones in. However, as mentioned before external speakers play fine without issues, but there are certain times where I NEED to use headphones. Its like i have to reset the audio device every time I put headphones in but I shouldn't so something must be wrong. ![]() Also have done troubleshooter and that gave me no help. I have tried reinstalling and updating the drivers without success. Realtek has been crashing and causing me alot of issues after the latest Windows 10 update and my audio was working perfectly fine before. I can't play any sound mp3 flac wav or anything during this time as the computer thinks the sound is disconnected then sometimes if I wait it just resets itself and goes back to normal. Whenever I plug in headphones the Realtek audio disconnects itself. ![]() I have a external Bluetooth Speaker I have been using while i've been having this issue but there are certain parts where I need to use headphones for example, at night or when I am recording music. I don't have any proper PC speakers yet as it didn't come with any but that's fair enough. The computer itself works fine but the sound doesn't when I plug in headphones. I've been having this very frustrating problem on a new Dell Inspirion Windows 10 PC Desktop.
